Deception in Hamlet & Othello

The writer argues that in both plays, characters, specifically Hamlet and Iago, engage in deceptive actions that are intended to manipulate others. However, the motivations behind the deception in each instances are totally different. Hamlet is tortured about whether revenge against his uncle is the correct action, that is, action that is justified and noble. Iago, on the other hand, is the epitome of evil and positively revels in his duplicity. Nevertheless, certain parallels can be drawn between the Iago and the prince of Denmark.
