Outrageous Acts, Everyday Rebellions

action, and the results of the choice. While this is only a
hypothetical example, this excellent model paper discusses an
'outrageous act' which serves to make the world a better place

The Impact Of Women In The Military And Combat Roles
[ send me this paper ]
13 pages in length. Men and women have waged a battle of the sexes since human beings first established hierarchy during the formation of Millennium Man; to think contemporary society still grapples with this long-standing struggle is to understand just how the aspect of gender identity continues to be, with the presence of females in the military reflecting one of the most argued concepts. While the question of women in combat remains constant - not the least of which includes "whether women are so inherently different from men that they are not able to be involved in killing, or should not be, to problems of unit cohesion" (Quester 27) - the historical nature of female presence in the military atmosphere has proven both strong and unyielding to gender pressure. Bibliography lists 24 sources.

The Subjugation of Women From Ancient Times to the Seventeenth Century
[ send me this paper ]
A 3 page discussion of the ancient and historic subjugation of women. Contends that while differences in the societal roles between men and women may at one time have been justifiable, this justification has not been valid for centuries. Points out change became a particularly obvious part of the Victorian Era. Concludes that different women took different approaches to effect the changes which they saw as necessary in regard to their traditional gender roles in the Victorian Era. While many chose to stay in the home in the same role they had occupied for years, others sought jobs, and still others sought education. In comparison to the women's movement which we know today, the women's movement of this earlier time was muted to say the least. Never-the-less progress was made and women slowly began to carve their own niche into society as a whole. Bibliography lists 1 source.
